Lakeview Center: Community Focal Point

When the Lakeview Center here at Arbor Gate opened in mid-August, 2000, about 350 guests toured this exquisitely designed and decorated community center. It has been the focal point of all of our activities ever since.

Monthly events are planned and facilitated through the help of many resident volunteers who serve on a variety of committees. The committees have been set up by the residents who opted to get involved, and now many serve in leadership to see that our community's activities are well structured and run smoothly.

Our Kitchen Committee, for example, meets regularly to assess the needs in that area and to help plan for events and activities that include using the kitchen. Monthly covered dish socials are a prime example. These gatherings have been very successful and includes preparation and input from the Entertainment Committee, since each social has offered some form of entertainment after the meal.

Check the "Happenings" on page 4 of this newsletter and you will see monthly as well as weekly listings of get-togethers at Lakeview Center. From square dances to aerobics (every Monday and Wednesday), from crafts to cards to pool tournaments.

The Arbor Gate office staff and owners are well pleased that Lakeview Center has become such a wonderful focal point for this community. And with the coming of spring and warmer weather, there will no doubt be other activities to include the lovely patio as well. Kudos to the committees and their helpers who make all the happenings happen!
